This Could Be the Year (Scriptures)
This Could Be the Year:
This could this be the year Jesus returns? Are you ready? It is my hope and prayer that you are. I’ll never forget the day that my daughter Heather asked me to come to church with her and my son Marty. That day changed my life forever. I realized that some of my family would be going to heaven and I would be left behind. I learned that day that I needed trust in Jesus for salvation. It didn’t take much for the pastor convince me of my sins. After the church services I went into the pastor’s office with Pastor Lee Sawyer, and his wife Denise. That day they led me to Christ. I will be forever grateful to Pastor Sawyer, his wife Denise, and my daughter for planting these truths in my heart. I now know that when Jesus returns I will be going with Him to heaven, and that I will see family that have died before me. In a world where everything we know as right and wrong has become turned around and what was right has now become wrong and what was wrong has become right. We can live in the hope that this may be the year that Jesus returns. We can also have the comfort that all who trust Jesus for salvation will be gathered together and taken out of this world and we will no longer have suffering, sorrow, or fear.
It tells us in I Thessalonians 4:13-18 that those who have died and if they believe in Jesus for salvation will be raised from the dead and will go to heaven with Jesus.
(1Th 4:13) But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
(1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
(1Th 4:15) For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
(1Th 4:16) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
(1Th 4:17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
(1Th 4:18) Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
